God Loves Time Alone With You
November 23, 2018
For she said within herself, If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole. Matthew 9:21 KJV
God loves to hear you pray. When you pray it doesn't have to be loud always. Indeed God loves those intimate times of worshipful prayers.
Mind you, I do enjoy hearing people pray out loud at church. But this is no indicator of greater spirituality or more powerful prayer.
Whenever there is group or corporate prayer taking place, it helps inspire others to pray. However this is no guarantee of answered prayer.
Remember in the Bible about the woman with the issue of blood? It says she spoke within herself when she went to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. Yet, she received her answer as surely as many who cried aloud to the Lord.
The Bible tells us that God hears the cry of the heart as well as the lips, and volume is not related to the level of anointing.
There are those who tend to think their public prayer is enough and it eliminates the need for private prayer. Actually, it is during private times of prayer that the Holy Spirit builds a foundation of strong faith and intimacy with God.
This time alone with God empowers us to effectively join others in prayer in a group setting, or corporately.
The bottom line is this: in order for your prayers with others to be effective and powerful, we must first have established our individual prayer life privately.
Have you had a private time of prayer today? If not, why don’t you take just a moment and talk with the Lord?
